The National Testing Agency released the notification for the UGC NET June 2024 session on April 20, 2024, marking the commencement of the application process. Candidates can submit their applications for the UGC NET June 2024 session until May 10, 2024. The exam is scheduled to take place on June 16, 2024, in computer-based mode. Conducted twice a year, the UGC NET exam by NTA serves as a gateway for aspiring Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellows in Indian Universities and Colleges. The examination will be held across 239 cities, providing candidates with the option to select a convenient location. Moreover, candidates can opt to take the exam in either Hindi or English.

  6. Pay the application fee online via credit/debit card or offline through e-Challan.
  7. Verify all the details and submit the form.

Eligibility Criteria: Graduates of UGC-recognized universities with a master’s degree or equivalent are eligible. Candidates with a 4-year bachelor’s degree program and 75% marks or equivalent can apply.
Final-year bachelor’s degree students are eligible. Final-year post-graduate students can also apply. Qualifying exams must be in specified subjects. Minimum marks required: 55% for general and 50% for reserved categories.

Final-year master’s degree students can apply.
PhD degree holders receive a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks if they complete their Master’s before September 19, 1991.
Application Fee: The UGC NET 2024 exam fee varies by category and is non-refundable. It can be paid online or offline.
Details: General/Unreserved: Rs. 1150/-General-EWS/OBC-NCL: Rs. 600/-SC/ST/PWD & Third Gender: Rs. 325/-Processing charges and GST apply and are paid by the candidate.
Reservation Policy: UGC NET candidates are subject to India’s reservation policy. Here are the reservation percentages according to categories: SC: 15%ST: 7.5%OBC (NCL): 27%General-EWS: 10%PwD (40% or more disability): 4%

Exam Pattern: UGC NET 2024 is a computer-based Test (CBT) only. It comprises two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper-I: 50 questions, 100 marks; Paper-II: 100 questions, 200 marks. Both papers feature objective-type multiple-choice questions. No negative markings for incorrect answers.
Syllabus:Paper 1 focuses on teaching and reasoning ability, general knowledge, and divergent thought.

Paper 2 offers a subject-based syllabus with a choice of 83 subjects. Candidates can choose subjects like Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Management, etc. The syllabus is available for all subsections.
